On Oct. 16th, more than 70 million Americans will tune in to watch the second Presidential election debate in Hempstead, NY. With the end of the most costly race in history just weeks away, this will be one of our last opportunities to force both candidates to take a stand on the ever-growing domination of Big Money in politics.
Two-thirds of independent swing voters agree that reducing the influence of money in politics and well-funded special interests is “a very important factor in my vote.”* Well, given this town-hall style debate will feature questions from undecided swing voters, we think it’s high time those voters got the real answers they need to the question they care about.
And we’re not alone. Google recently hosted a forum for people to submit and vote on the questions they wanted to hear at the debate. Guess what the second most popular questions (with over 2,000 votes) was?:
"If elected, will you support a constitutional amendment to effectively reverse Citizens United v. F.E.C. and create realistic campaign finance reform that will eliminate all corporate money from all elections?"**
It’s clear that the American people want answers. Let’s get them. Join the movement and add your voice to the call for answers so that together we can finally hold our politicians accountable!
