Let the People Vote Rally- Sacramento

The CA Supreme Court voted 5-1 to remove Prop 49 from the ballot this November essentially removing the people’s right to have our voice heard on a very important advisory measure that would urge congress to act towards overturning the disastrous Citizen’s United Supreme Court ruling that fueled the fire of income inequality and severely weakened our democracy by equating money with speech and corporations with people.

It’s time to rise up together and let the CA Supreme Court know what we think of their ruling…this Wednesday, August 20th the people’s voice will be heard! 99Rise is coordinating peaceful demonstrations at the three Supreme Court offices SF, LA, and Sacramento. Find your location and make your voice heard, remember that together our voice is more powerful than any amount of money being used to silence it. All together now: Money ain’t speech, Corporations aren’t people!!

  • Hi Everyone, I invite you to come out and lend your voice to addressing our corrupted system of democracy. We all have busy lives, if we're lucky we have a job that takes up a big chunk of it. The 1% is reaping the benefits of you not having the time to keep up with how they are manipulating our democracy. I have made the decision to take action for my daughter, my hope is that you find your reason to step outside your comfort zone and decide to do something great because we aren't going to do this alone.
